After designing computer peripherals such as keyboards and USB flash drives, the people over at Art Lebedev are now trying their hand at mobile phone design. Given their track record with the Optimius Maximums keyboard and their Folderix drives, it’s little wonder why Scartel chose them to design their new handset. The concept phone features a 800×480 display which is huge. This is probably the largest screen on a mobile phone today, as the iPhone screen only measures 480×320, and it’s all screen. In addition to the huge display, the phone features a front and back camera and support for Tri-band GSM network, with room for expansion via a microSD slot. Did we mention it’s touchscreen and supports WiMAX and WiFi?
Art Lebedev’s team has really outdone themselves this time, especially considering the size of the screen. It’s just as sleek as what we’ve come to expect from modern phones turned computer, and we’re hoping this design crosses borders and makes its way to the UK. Thought the phone is still in the wishful thinking of the design stage, if the big wigs at Scartel approve the design and start manufacturing the phone, it’ll be a great day for technophiles in Russia.
