lx600_lotus_5 LG Announce LX600 LotusSprint and LG have teamed up again for a new messaging phone with a QWERTY keyboard. The Lotus LX600 is set to be one of the first Sprint devices to offer One Click, which is a customizable interface which lets you organize your shortcuts right on the home screen. It will also have EV-DO support, which means it will have access to broadband and entertainment services such as Sprint TV, the Spring Music Store, and a wide variety of other streaming applications. Aside from the sleek keyboard, the Lotus also features a 2 megapixel camera and camcorder, an MP3 player, a microSD slot which supports up to 12GBs of storage, Bluetooth, SMS voice and text messaging, as well as email support. In addition, the Lotus also has a background music mode, which allows you to listen to the music on your phone while doing other things, such as texting or surfing the web.

The most interesting aspect of the Lotus by far is its design. It’s more square than rectangle and the chubby shape leaves you wondering if it’s a phone at all. However, the LG LX600 Lotus has been the recipient of a Red Dot Design Award for the unique design, and it’s not hard to see why. The unit measures only 3.3 inches wide and 2.4 inches thick, and an amazing 0.7 inch think width. It weighs in at only 3.7 ounces, so it’s both a small and light phone. It is available in a satin black and a textured purple finish which features lotus flowers on the outside, which is meant for the female audience. As of right now, the phone is set to run $149 with a two-year contract.
