Nokia will release four new handsets as part of the ‘Supernova’ range expected in the UK, the first quarter of next year or so. No pricing levels were set, though they aren’t expected to differ that much from existing Nokia phones.

The new handsets will target customers who value the appearance of their mobile over the feature set with slick, distinctive styling and switchable bright covers. There are plenty who require their phone be “pretty” over good technical specs.

The 7210, 7310, 7510 flip and 7610 slide, will ascend in price and features. Each handset comes with changeable covers in a range of colours and styles. The top of the range the 7610 slide has a 3.2-megapixel camera the rest have utilitarian 2-megapixel cameras.

Customers will be able to design their own mobile phone cover with online design software, ‘Nokia Build’. The online service also includes preloaded designs from global design students. An interesting approach, to say the least.
