Nokia has been developing the multi media based N series to become the leading smart phones on the market. With the N78 Nokia has brought the mobile phone to life allowing you to use the wide ranging features in both your business and personal life. The Nokia N78 is more than just a mobile phone, it is a compact multi media device designed to fit into the palm of your hand.

Design

The Nokia N78 is a mobile phone that has been designed with sleekness in mind. It weighs only 101 grams and with a width of 49mm and length of 113mm making it easy to conceal in the average sized hand. One of the greatest parts of the N78 design is the inclusion of 70MB of internal memory. The internal memory allows you to store up to 1,500 music tracks, 3,400 photos, and 120 minutes of video. The N78 will ensure that you never run out of memory space.

This stylish mobile phone has been designed with the trend setting user in mind and with two powerful cameras and video recorder you will be turned into a professional photographer in no time. Being packed full of multi media applications, the Nokia N78 gives you the tools to share, distribute, and copy, images and presentations. You can even develop your own slide show with music to showcase your favourite images. When using the Nokia N78 it comes as no surprise that Nokia has developed the mobile phone for the user with a passion for imaging. The N78 camera is designed to provide quality photographs and allows pictures to be captured with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 megapixels; something which some other mobile phone manufacturers have been unable to achieve.

Features

When using the Nokia N78 it was clear that Nokia has not sacrificed functionality for the inclusion of superior multi media devices. The mobile hand set is light weight and both incoming and outgoing calls can be heard with pristine clarity. The speaker phone on the N78 also works well, but the volume level only makes it feasible for use in doors. External noise out side quickly clouded out the speaker phone volume making it difficult to hear. A Bluetooth headset would quickly overcome this problem though.

The N78 also provides a GPS function which allows you to plot your course and get real time voice driving instructions. The GPS is a bit complicated with the various GPS modes on offer but after a bit of playing around the GPS function on the N78 allowed for accurate driving and walking directions and even real time traffic information. It is a handy device to have on a mobile phone so you never get lost or become late for an important appointment in an unfamiliar location.

For the busy business person on the go, the N78 is also packed full of Microsoft applications to keep your office running even when you are not there. This mobile phone is equipped with QuickOffice which allows you to view Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The only downside is that if you want to create or edit any of these documents you have to upgrade through Microsoft.
As far as Instant Messaging on mobile phones go, the N78 is not ideal. The keypad is a bit too small to be able to accurately use programs like Yahoo and MSN. But on saying that, how much do you really want packed into your mobile phone? I am sure that as Nokia’s N Series develops more they will overcome the Instant Messaging problem, but at the end of the day not everyone is looking for a mobile phone solely for Instant Messaging.

When it comes to personal relaxation the N78 has everything you are looking for. This mobile phone comes equipped with an FM Radio transmitter and also allows you to download tracks and albums straight from your computer and the internet. The sound clarity is superb and generates a real life acoustic definition. The headphone jack that the N78 has also lets you plug the phone into a speaker system or headphone system, the audio system is perfect for parties or quiet time.

Ease of Use

The N78 is an easy to use mobile phone. The menu is easy to navigate to find all of the internal applications and although some applications are now outdated the N78 has everything you need at your fingertips. The only difficulty that comes using the N78 is the cramped key pad which sees a constant hitting of wrong keys, but with familiarisation with this mobile phone the key pad gets easier to use.

With the added benefit of a quality internet browser the design of the N78 has considered all end user needs and provided a mobile phone that truly embraces the dawn of a mobile phone revolution.

Things I don’t like in Nokia N78 is it don’t have the best call quality, nor did it produce great pictures. It’s also expensive. But As with all Nokia N series smartphones, the Nokia N78 impresses with its high-end features, especially the new geotagging tool,

The keypad does look cramped. Those buttons are too small for anyone with big hands, it’s not one of the best looking N series phones but it would probably be good if you didn’t want anything too serious.

Again, one of great multimedia phone product by Nokia. It’s have enough function for me. I like using it.

It’s got great features, a good display. The number keys are not terrible, but not very comfortable, and mistakes will be made in entering text. A little more distance between the rows would have been a lot better for my thumbs! Cool design. I wish Symbian 60 had a super-simple menu mode, for just calls and sms messaging and address book. But that’s not a problem specific to this phone model, and maybe it does exist in there somewhere. There is a lot to explore!
