samsung-m8800-pixon Samsung Officially Unveils The 8 Megapixel PixonSamsung has now officially unveiled the new the 8 megapixel Pixon (the name Bresson lost the toss of the coin to).  The new Samsung Pixon will be a real contender in the ever-growing arena of eight megapixel handheld devices.  With its armoury of features including not just a 3.2″ WQVGA (240×400) touchscreen and its 8 megapixel autofocus camera, but a long list of winning features such as geo-tagging, x16 digital zoom, 30 FPS video recording, Face smile detection, dual LED flash, 100MB of internal memory expandable via microSD support; plus a rockin’ Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA.

However, we are still wondering where is the WiFi and the GPS?  It is predicted that France will see the Pixon on the shelves in the middle of October for about 550 EURO and soon after that it will start to appear in Europe and Asia. Unfortunately, North America has not been mentioned in the press release so maybe 2049 is as good a hedge bet as you can make for when this beauty will hit the US market. Samsung has people already waiting in anticipation for the official release.
