Best Buy thinks that 7 and ½ hours of talk time are worth €494.50 ($699 US). Of course there are other features of HTC’s Touch Diamond that Best Buy hopes will lure consumers in and put aside eating for a month or two to purchase their new mobile phone. It also helps that the Touch Diamond was named Europe’s top smartphone by the prestigious, European Imaging and Sound Association.
Features include:
- Built-in Bluetooth and 802.11b/g technology
- 2-4/5” TouchFLO 3D touch screen with 480 x 640 pixels
- Operates on 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks
- 4GB of internal storage
- Built-in 3.2-megapixel digital camera and video camcorder
- External caller ID; SMS text messaging and wireless e-mail enabled
- Hands-free speakerphone and voice-activated dialing
- Vibration alert; GPS chip
- 7-1/2 hours talk time with and included lithium-ion battery
Best Buy is allowing customers to preorder the mobile super computer on their site for a price that’s more than I pay in rent. I wonder if Best Buy has a lay-away program.
