It is now widely accepted that the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro Windows Mobile smartphones have been a resounding success. With their crystal clear 2.8-in. VGA display providing amazing web site and video viewing, with a tonne of processing power and memory, the HTC Touch Pro and the HTC Touch Diamond will be the next stars of the show for 2008 and likely 2009.

The breaking news however is that TouchFLO 3D-toting handsets from HTC are more than just mobile phones, media players, GPS navigation devices and mobile Internet devices, they are now also a wireless remote mouse for your computer.

Created by XGA developers,(but of course – who else?), the new G remote is essentially transforms your HDC touch Diamond or HDC touch pro into a wireless mouse or use with your Windows PC or laptop. Emulating the functionality and look of a Logitech M. X. air mouse, the Gremote allows you use the accelerometers in your HTC Touch Diamond or HTC Touch Pro to path your hand’s movement transforming that motion into the mouse pointer; complete with touch a scroll wheel to finish off the story.

There are plans for the future so watch out for the following new releases

  • Touchpad for devices which don’t have GSensor
  • Keyboard
  • GMedia – applet to control apps like Winamp, PowerDVD etc…
  • Game Controler – but this can be more difficult because of windows driver required
  • GRemoteServer for Windows and Linux

It pretty looks like a remote to me. It’s a very inviting product though. Good job!

I just got my new HTC diamond for an affordable price. Even if the new windows mobile out, it make still fun to use 6.5 with a htpc based on windows media center edtion.
