Today AT&T announced four phones for text enthusiasts. The Quickfire, Propel and Matrix we already knew about, but the Slate was the surprise package.

AT&T’s four devices are:

  • AT&T Quickfire –a touchscreen and full slide out keyboard are the stand-out features of the Quickfire. Both portrait and landscape mode make ‘mobiling’ on 3G easier. Choose from lime, orange and silver as the Quickfire will start selling in November for a contract included $99.99
  • Samsung Propel -this square slider device packs for slide QWERTY keyboard instead of the normal numeric keypad. A 1.3 megapixel camera is also part of the package. The Samsung propel is supported by AT&T Navigator, Mobile Email, CV, AT&T video share calling and AT&T Mobile music. Choose from an array of colours; red, blue, green, and white with red for $79.99 on a two-year contract in the last weeks of October
  • Pantech Matrix- the Matrix is a slide- out keyboard device packing a 1.3 megapixel camera with IM client. It is compatible with AT&T Mobile Email, AT&T Mobile music, CV, AT&T video share, and AT&T navigator. Starting from a target of 16 the matrix will be available in navy blue and black with green for $79.99 with a two-year contract
  • Pantech Slate –‘the world’s thinnest device with a full QWERTY keypad’ is a candybar-shaped device packing a 1.3 megapixel camera. Choose from either black or royal blue and pay $49.99 with a two-year contract in late October.
