Its here! The promised second major release of the Face book application for the iPhone has finally been announced. This bigger and badder 2.0 version was promised for September, and even though they cut it very fine, they have indeed managed to keep their word.

V 2.0 emulates all the features of the web site itself with the completely overhauled News feed feature, relationship and interest updates, all photo uploads and news posts. The ability to comment on news and limit the feed categories by choice is also now available. Previous versions were very confined with the most basic of upload options. Now you can caption, tag and post photos of the Walls of your friends to your heart’s content.

The new V2 also includes the very necessary search tools not included previously. Find lost loved ones and love letters with the addition of people and inbox searching, and you can now also send them a friend request. Last but not least V2.0 is a lot more stable and efficient which is very important for anybody who has a massive e-crew.

There is not a lot to complain about with this new version as the interface is clean and standard browsers are handy. Sometimes the best things in life after free and the Face book V2.0 is more than worth the small amount of time it takes to upgrade. There is a rumour that Face book is having a tough time dealing with an onslaught of enthusiastic iPhone users, so it may pay to wait a day or two before you upgrade.
