The Samsung Sway, which has been in the wings for quite a while on the Verizon network, is finally scheduled to hit the US market next week. October 6th was announced as the launch date for the silver slider which is only 11mm thick. The smooth and slim Sway features a 2 mexapixel camera for taking great shots on the go, a music player, and a microSD slot with which can hold up to 8GBs of data. The phone will also feature Mobile Web 2.0 and Bluetooth.
The only bad thing about the phone is that it doesn’t support EVDO, which means over the air music downloading will not be supported, and any other data which is downloaded must use a slower 1x network. The price for the Sway is set at $119 with a two year contract, and $239 if you purchase the phone contract free. While the name seems a little bit awkward for a sliding phone, the Sway has some nice features for those who don’t need a QWERTY keyboard for texting, or a phone with a super camera. The super slim design is sure to make this phone a hit.
