Sony Ericsson’s flagship device, the X1 Xperia, is due to be released in the next couple of weeks. So the anticipation is over, as enters CarPhone Warehouse stores being available on prepay £600 and free tariffs from £45 per month on the 02 and Orange providers.

How Sony Ericsson’s X1 Xperia will perform on the Christmas market will be interesting to watch as there are a high number of high end devices being released in financially tenuous times. The Xperia will be up against the impressive 8 megapixel camera phones such as the Samsung Pixon and the LG Renoir. The Nokia N96 will be hard to ignore amongst all its hype and then there of course HTC’s Google phone and the G1 to content with.

We first saw the X1 Xperia operate on Windows Mobile 6.1 with its touch screen interface, 3.2 megapixel camera, and slide out QWERTY keyboard when it was announced at the Mobile world Congress in Barcelona last February.

So how will Sony Ericsson’s X1 Xperia’s touch screen experience touch the hearts of the Christmas Mobile consumer?
