firefoxmobilealpha Surprise! - First Screenshots For Firefox Mobile Available

The launch of Firefox Mozilla Alpha is something that we have been anticipating since hearing about it last week. Now, out of the blue, theory becomes reality with the sudden appearance of the first screenshots of Firefox mobile. The images shown of Firefox Mozilla Alpha have appeared unannounced, running on a Windows Mobile Professional touchscreen smartphone. It has also been confirmed by the Firefox Mobile team that the browser will also be available for Windows Mobile.

At the top of the screen there is a prominent address bar, and on the left there is a helpful panes tab that displays which tabs are currently open by a small icon that is easy to spot. It looks as if you might have the choice of configurations of the main browser buttons as we see one image showing the back, forward and reload in a slender column on the right and another showing them directly under the address bar.

From the images we’ve seen we’re getting a pretty good idea of how the final version will most likely appear but better still we have learned that the developers have scored an impressive 88 out of 100 with an Acid3 test which is the benchmark browser performance means of assessment.

It is hoped that the Mozilla will release a public beta very soon but until then – well you will just have to wait…
